Local comedians compete at the first-ever Humboldt Comedy Showdown on May 7 to receive the soon-to-be-coveted award of “Funniest Person at HumBrews on a Wednesday.” DJ and comedian Sherae O’Shaughnessy will host the show, awarding points to contestants who get a laugh from the audience. The audience won’t be left out of the fun. For several questions posed to comedian contestants, audience members have a chance to pay $2 to get the mic and give their own funny answer. Show up and you’ll also have a chance to win a prize! Eris & Edrington Writing Company is presenting the event, and all net profits will be donated to the Campaign to Elect Arnie Klein for Humboldt County District Attorney. Tickets are $10 at the door.
