Humboldt History Comes Alive

Freshwater Community Hall

Humboldt historian and author Jerry Rohde is presenting a free one-hour historical presentation of life here in Humboldt County at the Freshwater Community Hall. “Humboldt Headlines from 1900 to 1950” will touch on the many popular news stories of the day, such as the fatal ship collision off Shelter Cove, Fortuna’s biggest bank robbery, and Jack London’s infamous bar fight, along with many more stories and over 40 dynamic and dramatic images shown. Sponsored by Pierson Building Center, Jerry’s free presentation begins at 7 p.m., with an optional community potluck beginning at 6 p.m. (please bring a dish to share). Everyone is welcome and we’d love to see you there. The Freshwater Community Hall is located at 49 Grange Road, Eureka.
