Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019 is the Kick Off Party and the the first day of the Humboldt Steelhead Days #6 fishing contest! The hatchery steelhead fishing contest runs from Jan. 19 until Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 (2pm cut off) with a awards ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Mad River Brewing Co., in Blue Lake, CA. The 3 biggest hatchery steelhead caught on both the Mad River and Trinity River are eligible to win prizes. Catch a steelhead; measure the steelhead from nose to tail with a measuring tape; take a photo of the whole fish with the tape; and then submit your photo to Humboldt Steelhead Days by posting them to the HSD Facebook page with the hashtag #hsd or #humboldtsteelheaddays or you can submit your photos to humboldtsteelheaddays@gmail.com to enter. If you catch a wild steelhead, please keep it submerged in the river. You can send us a photo and we’ll post to our social media for strictly bragging rights. #keepemwet You must register by making a $10 donation to Humboldt Steelhead Days either by mail, by registering online, or downloadable form on the HSD website. Or register at these locations RMI Outdoors in Eureka, Mad River Tackle in Arcata, or Mad River Brewing Co., in Blue Lake.
