Igor and Red Elvises

The Siren’s Song Tavern

Igor Yuzov was born in Germany, raised in Ukraine and studied in Russia. He grew up in the former Soviet Union, where folk music was the norm and rock’n’roll was illegal. As soon as he could, Igor left Russia for America with his “Folk’n’Roll” band Limpopo which was personally greeted by Ronald Reagan, and won Ed McMahon’s Star Search. In 1995, Elvis Presley came to Igor in a dream and told him to start playing rock’n’roll. Henceforth Igor & Red Elvises gave street performances on Santa Monica’s 3rd Street Promenade, where crowds grew larger than the City of Santa Monica could allow. Evolving over the years, Igor’s music has been labeled “Siberian Surf Rock” with humorous lyrics and grooves that force the audience to dance. The band has constantly toured the world with occasional breaks to record new music and participate in film and television projects, including “Six String Samurai”, “Mail Order Bride”, “Armageddon” and “Melrose Place”, No matter where they perform, Igor & Red Elvises always bring the party with them.
