In a Mellow Tone: RLA and James Zeller, trombone/vocals.

For years RLA has showcased talented local jazz artists for Westhaven Center for the Art’s series with a resounding success. This performance features James Zeller on trombone and vocals. An Oregon native, James spent 17 years as a performer and bandleader in New York City before relocating to Humboldt. He performed with The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, and also at The Village Vanguard Orchestra, Slide Hampton, Joe Chambers and The Jimmy Heath Orchestra. He has also appeared at legendary venues such as The Blue Note and The Jazz Standard.

RLAD: Tim Randles, keys, Doug Marcum, guitar, Ken Lawrence, bass, and Mike LaBolle, drums. Snack and drinks available. $10-20 sliding donation. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Call 707-834-2479 for more info.
