In Our Sanctuary City
Equity Arcata, a community initiative dedicated to fostering an inclusive and thriving local community, is excited to announce three upcoming events aimed at supporting local businesses, students and the community at large.
On Saturday, Mar. 22 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the D Street Neighborhood Center, Equity Arcata is holding a community dialogue space in response to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement laws and Arcata and Humboldt County’s Sanctuary status. This event is called “In Our Sanctuary City” and is crafted and hosted alongside Centro Del Pueblo. There will be a panel of law enforcement, school administration and healthcare providers that will answer community questions on their protocols if U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was in town or at their establishment and how these policies and procedures play out in compliance to the County and City’s sanctuary status.
