International Day Of Peace: Speak Your Peace CommUnity Event

September 21st marks the 34th year of the United Nations commemoration of the International Day of Peace. TRUEntertaiment invites Humboldt to their 3rd annual International Day of peace celebration with a inspiring line up of arts in “Speak Your Peace” event on Wednesday, September 21 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Arcata Playhouse, 1251 9th Street Arcata. Enjoy hands on activities, storytelling, narratives, poetry, short film, song, charitable quilt raffle and snacks and teas from around the world. $5-10 donations and kids under 7 are free. International Day of Peace is supported by; Arcata City Council, TRUEntertainment, and the Humboldt Chapter of Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom and Veterans for Peace Humboldt Chapter 56. Creative activities include screen printing, peace flags, cards making, peace pole decorations with music by Bill Billstrom, Howdy Emerson, Redwood Coast Montessori Choir, Raging Grannies; Joanne Rand, Yemaya Kimmel and Family; storytelling by Ali Freedlund, personal narratives and poetry from Yemen, Bosnia, Palestine/Israel and Foster Youth, and a short film from Syria.
