Jewelry Surfaces & Textures Workshop

Phosphene

A workshop for anyone that would like to expand their metalsmithing skills to include a variety of surface treatments.

We’ll cover:

Patina (red, black, green)
Reticulation and Fusing
Texture (hammer, scribe, stamps, files)
High polish (buffing and tumbling)
You’ll leave this workshop with a variety of samples and the knowledge to bring your imagined surface treatments to life!

All supplies included
Students must be 18 years or older.

To use the studio you must:

Sign a Liability Waiver
Wear closed toed shoes
Wear appropriate eye protection
Wear splash goggles when using the soldering area
Note: 1 pair is available in the studio at the soldering station. If you would like your own pair please bring them.
Tie back long hair
Secure loose clothing
Follow all posted Studio rules
Follow directions from instructor and/or studio monitors
We also highly suggest wearing natural fibers like cotton, hemp, etc. Synthetic fibers contain plastic that may melt onto your skin if they come into contact with heat!
