KAYAK TO CONNECT: EXPLORING YUROK CULTURE AT HUMBOLDT LAGOONS SP

Humboldt Lagoons State Park

Participants will rotate between two guided experiences, ensuring everyone enjoys both the Yurok-led kayak tour and the Chah-Pek’w Visitor Center tour. The day will be divided into two sessions (10 AM–1 PM and 1 PM–4 PM), with groups switching midday to fully experience the natural beauty of the lagoon and the cultural significance of the visitor center.

To ensure safety and comfort, participants must wear closed-toed shoes, appropriate clothing (no cotton), and bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a change of warm clothes. Personal floating devises will be provided and must be worn at all times while on the water. Swimming is prohibited, and children must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

The event takes place within Humboldt Lagoons State Park at the Stone Lagoon Visitor Center building along US 101, where you will find plenty of parking space.

RSVP Required: All participants must sign up in advance to attend this event.
