Kinetic Universe and the Morris Graves Museum of Art are collaborating once again to bring you another amazing year of upcycled fashion in this lovely venue. We will be modifying just a little bit from last year and adding more categories and local artist judges! Planning to create a stunning look to enter in the show? Please REUSE as much as possible in keeping with the spirit of the event.
More details:
* $10 per person at the door. All ages!
* Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options will be for sale, benefiting the Morris Graves Museum of Art. 100% ID check for alcohol, so make sure an ID goes with that outfit!
* Musical entertainment will be provided, TBA soon.
* This will be an Arts Alive after-party, so plan to come after you enjoy the galleries. Doors at 9, show to begin promptly at 9:30.
* As always, designers and their models will get in free. Please plan to show up at 8:30 PM if entering. Designers are welcome to enter more than one creation, but please have 1 model per ensemble as the show will move quickly. The grand prize winner will have their creation featured in the Morris Graves Museum of Art’s “Junque Art” show for the remainder of the month! More prizes TBA.
* There will be a Grand Prize winner (Trashionista Gloriosa) - featured in the Morris Graves Museum of Art for the month’s Junque Arte show, 2 Runner Up winners, a winner for best accessory, a youth prize for trashion CREATED by a young person aged 16 and under, and a Wackadoo award for weirdest/ most creative. Couture will be judged based on amount of material that is reused (i.e. rescued from the trash - this is huge!), creativity, craftsmanship/ artistry, “panache” and a rating for judges’ preference
* Proceeds will benefit Kinetic Universe and the Humboldt Arts Council/ Morris Graves Museum of Art.
