King Peak Moonlight Hike

See Event Description

At 4088ft, King Peak is the highest point in King Range National Conservation Area and on Friday, September 9 join Friends of the Lost Coast for a moonlight hike to its’ summit. Meet at the BLM office in Whitethorn at 4pm to caravan to Lightning Trailhead (4WD recommended). We will then climb the peak, enjoy sunset, and start our journey back under the light of the rising moon. This 4.8 mile round trip route includes nearly 2000ft of elevation gain and will be strenuous for some. Returning in the moonlight presents additional risks, a factor that should be considered before embarking on this hike. Space is limited. Email justin@lostcoast.org to RSVP or for more info.
