Latino Family College Information Night

Arcata High School and Humboldt State University will offer a question and answer panel about college resources and opportunities that are available to support first generation Spanish speaking students to enroll in, pay for, and succeed in college. The presentation will be in Spanish, with English translation provided. Guests panelists for the event are Fernando Paz, HSU Latinx Center for Academic Excellence, Rose Francia, Director HSU Trio/Talent Search, Christian Martinez, CR and HSU student, and Matthew Dean, Chair HSU World Languages Department. The panelists will answer the question, why go to college and how does it work? This is a free event that is open to the public, with light snacks provided from be 6:00 - 6:30, and the Q & A panel from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Call Jim Ritter at (707) 498-2917 for more information.
