Learn to Latch Hook
Latch hooking is a fun and relaxing craft in which segments of yarn are knotted to a canvas grid with a latch hook tool. A finished piece can be used to make small rug, wall hanging, or pillow. In the spirit of creative reuse, students will learn about different options for creating a canvas, and how to use up yarn ends! Students will also learn how to transfer a design, how to work the latch hook tool, and how make your latch hook knot. There will be time to work on your uniqe designs in class. ITEMS SAVED FROM THE LANDFILL: yarn, canvas, tools SKILLS LEARNED: latch hooking Latch hook: (n.) handheld tool similar to a latch needle, used for drawing loops of yarn through canvas or similar material to make rugs and the like. — This class is appropriate for ages 10 and up. All children under 16 years old must be accompanied by a paid adult.
