Lecture: Discovering Native Bees with Sharon Levy
Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center
Science writer Sharon Levy will review the basic ecology of some local native bees, share photos of pollinators at work, and explain the need for bee conservation. Native bees are under serious threat from insecticides, habitat loss, and introduced diseases. As a volunteer for the California Bumble Bee Atlas, Sharon has learned firsthand about the bees that pollinate plants at the Arcata Marsh, Malel Dunes, and other local habitats. Her presentation will be simulcast via Zoom at the following link: https://humboldtstate.zoom.us/j/82483014443?pwd=EeHxZNtMhzSE1RwuEaYbd2tUxKYCiO.1
