Using Tree Rings to Understand Growth, Climate, and Fire in Coast Redwoods
Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center
Presented by Allyson Carroll, Research Associate, Humboldt State University. Allyson will describe how we can learn about trees and forests using tree rings, specifically focusing on coast redwoods. As part of a team working on long-term research plots along the range of coast redwood, Allyson will detail recent advances in understanding redwood growth and climate interactions, while also discussing how tree rings relate to fire, archaeology, and other fields of study.
