Let’s Talk About the Middle East Film Series- Radip Kobani
The Miniplex at Richards’ Goat Tavern
As part of the Let’s Talk About the Middle East film and discussion series, HSU History professor Dr. Leena Dallasheh hosts a screening of Radio Kobani (2016, Netherland, Kobani, Syria).
After her town Kobanî (north Syria) being liberated from ISIS, a young Kurdish reporter, Dilovan, started a radio station. Documenting a three-year period, during and after the fighting, this film shows her resilience, and tells the story of a community trying coming to terms with their trauma as they attempt to build their future.
The screening and discussion will take place at The Miniplex at Richards’ Goat (401 I Street, Arcata)
Film series is free and open to all ages.
