Every week, Lifetree Café-Marion gathers friendly people to experience the intriguing stories of life around us. Stories about the big-and little- stuff that shapes our lives. Family. Friends. Fears. Purpose. “Exploring Teen Suicide: A Necessary Conversation”—features a filmed interview with Shay Black, a woman whose son unexpectedly took his own life. In the interview, Black discusses the aftermath of losing her son. “The toughest thing about suicide is the person with all the answers takes them with him,” she says. “The people who are left behind are left with overwhelming feelings that they have to deal with.” During the program, Lifetree participants will have an opportunity to discuss what could be contributing to the epidemic of teen suicide.
