The Lisa Baney Quintet serenades listeners at the Morris Graves monthly Wine and Jazz program. Jazz singer Lisa Baney sang for three decades in small clubs and on large stages in the San Francisco jazz scene. Early in her career she studied with the legendary Mark Murphy; later on she fronted bands in both the U.S. and Europe, appearing with performers as diverse as Vicki Lawrence and Kenny Rankin. She is, as San Francisco Chronicle music critic Gerald Nachman notes, “pure, lithe, warmly burnished…a classic polished jazz singer.”
