Marbled Murrelets off the North Coast

Six Rivers Masonic Lodge

Join Redwood Region Audubon Society on Thursday, March 21, at 7:00 p.m. for a presentation by Craig Strong about his life among the Marbled Murrelets off our the Northern California coast and the most recent abundance estimates and population trends. Craig first went to the Farallon Islands at age twelve under the guidance of Dr. David Ainley. Since then he has been a naturalist and marine scientist in learning. He studied at Evergreen State College and UC Santa Cruz, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He completed an MS in Marine Sciences at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories. For the past twenty-four years, he has been the sole independent researcher on the Northwest Forest Plan’s Marbled Murrelet effectiveness monitoring team, among a host of dedicated agency personnel. The live program is held at Six Rivers Masonic Lodge, 251 Bayside Road, Arcata. It will be simultaneously Zoomed—go to rras.org for the link.
