Margaritas Podridas (Mexico) & Biblioteka (Seattle)

The Miniplex at Richards’ Goat Tavern

MARGARITAS PODRIDAS (Sub Pop Records) is a band from Sonora, México with influences of alternative rock, shoegaze and punk. Active since 2015, the band released their most recent album “Margaritas Podridas” in 2021, which led them to perform at international festivals such as Ruido Fest (Chicago), Freakout Festival (Seattle), This Ain’t No Picnic (Pasadena), and record a live session for KEXP. In 2022, the band released their latest single “No Quiero Ser Madre”, with Seattle-based label Suicide Squeeze.

With upbeat rock sounds akin to The B52s and Blondie, BIBLIOTEKA marries a blend of grunge, punk, and garage rock. Formed from the ashes of a disbanded project, singer/bassist Mary Robins and guitarist Hexx Rodriguez began writing for Biblioteka in the mid-2010s. The name pays homage to Robins’ Ukrainian heritage and Hexx’s Mexican roots – a name with a unifying meaning through their respective backgrounds.
