Mattole Restoration Council Trivia Night

MRC Native Plant Nursery

After a lonely winter here on the Lost Coast, the Mattole Restoration Council (MRC) is pleased to open an invitation to our Native Plant Nursery for our first public event since the Covid-19 pandemic. Join us on Friday, July 23 as we play trivia, eat gourmet burger dinners, enjoy tasty beverages and listen to live music during a summer sunset in the Mattole Valley. This event is similar to our annual fundraiser known as the Hoop House Hoedown, except this year we’re adding four categories of trivia, including: MRC history, the Mattole Watershed, Ecology & Natural History, and Miscellaneous. The MRC will also have t-shirts, hats, stickers, steel pint glasses, native plants, and native seed packets available for sale. Doors open at 5 pm, and trivia is set to begin around 6 pm. Visitors are encouraged to park along Mattole Rd (near the Mattole Valley Community Center), and to save parking on Chambers Rd for our alter-abled and elderly community members. For those with access constraints, please contact mrc@mattole.org in advance of the event to facilitate ease of entry. This is a Covid-safe event. We kindly request that if folks are feeling unwell, they stay home and support us from afar to protect our community. Participants that are unvaccinated and within 6 feet of others not in their “pod” will kindly be requested to wear a mask. The objectives and purpose of the Mattole Restoration Council are the restoration of natural systems in the Mattole River Watershed and their maintenance at sustainable levels of health and productivity, especially in regards to forests, fisheries, soil, and other plant and animal communities. The MRC is a 501(c )3 non-profit located in Petrolia, California that has been working to promote the health of the Mattole Watershed since 1983. # # #
