Maui Block Party Fundraiser
As the world still reels from the news and images coming out of Hawaii where wildfires have claimed dozens of lives and historic structures, a handful of people in Humboldt have organized to provide aid.
Assembling forces through the power of social media, the operators of the Pineapple Express Food Truck have cobbled together an impromptu block party for Monday between 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Kreations Auto Body’s Fortuna location.
“We will be donating 100% of our profits, and Kreations Auto Body is graciously matching ALL proceeds from the day,” Pineapple Express posted earlier today. In less than two days, the food truck was able to coordinate a DJ, vendors, a bake sale, a masseuse and a balloon arch to compliment their aloha cuisine.
Proceeds will be donated to the Maui Strong Fund run by the Hawaii Community Foundation.
