Arts! Arcata is Arcata Main Street’s monthly celebration of visual and performing arts, held at locations in Arcata.

For May, in addition to all the art and music, Arcata Main Street will be providing FREE Horse-Drawn Carriage rides around the Plaza during Arts! Arcata. Watch for appearances by Samba Alegra, the Bayside Ballet, Rueben T. Mayes painting on the Plaza, and… rumors of a flash mob! Congratulations to all the graduates - we salute you with the best of that Downtown Arcata has to offer!

ARCATA ARTISANS 883 H St. Two Featured Gallery Artists: Mimi LaPlant - painter of brightly colored, stimulating psychological abstract paintings on both paper and canvas; fiber artist Terri Tinkham - color fanatic and fiber freak.”

A photographic celebration of Historic Preservation Month, plus a permanent new installation from the Historical Sites Society of Arcata in the hallway. Wine pour benefits the Historical Sites Society of Arcata.

FATBÖL CLOTHING 1063 H St. Fatbol Cyphers #18. Host NAC ONE and Resident DJ M. This is a monthly community event dedicated to keeping the art of Hip Hop alive. All emcees and lyricists a welcome to freestyle or recite your verses with live DJs.

THE SANCTUARY 1301 J St. “Dance Hall Days,” new works by Gina Tuzzi, with additional works by a group of artists from the Humboldt State University’s honors painting program: Rebecca Baldwin, Alyssa Newton, Kasey Hass, Victor Feyling, Shane Donaldson, Victor Batz, Danielle Carlson, Gabrielle Castro, Angie Allen & Grace Franchini. Ambiance provided by Jaymorg, using a selection of dancehall records.
