MC Lars was among the first wave of artists to be labeled as “nerdcore” and he’s collaborated with Weird Al Yankovic, Kool Keith, MC Chris, MC Frontalot & more, tackling everything from Game of Thrones to Edgar Allen Poe. He’s performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall to ComicCon, and with artists including Snoop Dogg, Nas, and T-Pain. OPENING: Combine a Jackson-5-worthy falsetto, a mutual affinity for ‘70s R&B artists like Curtis Mayfield and the Delfonics, and a shared love of hip-hop outfits like Wu-Tang Clan and Snoop Dogg, and you get New Jersey “sweet soul” duo The Jack Moves, who have created their own unique modern take on the golden age of R&B.
