Memorial Day Ceremony

See Event Description

To honor America’s fallen veterans Ocean View Cemetery/Sunset Memorial Park will hold a traditional Memorial Day Program starting at 11:00 A.M. on Monday May 28, 2018. In addition to honoring fallen veterans, this year we will be dedicating the Avenue of the Flags to Paulette Gilliam, founder of the local Socks for Soldiers organization. The public is invited to join us to honor Paulette’s dedication and service.

This program will be held in the courtyard of the Veteran’s Garden, and will include bagpipe music by Rod Ross, presentation of the colors by the Mad River Community Honor Guard, and music by the Humboldt Harmonaires. The Memorial Day speaker will be Capt. Gregory Fuller, Commander United States Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay. Events will conclude with a Coast Guard flyover (weather permitting).

Please join us for coffee and donuts following the program.
