MLK Learning Center - MLK Day Celebration

HC Black Music and Arts Association welcomes you to the 2nd MLK Learning Center at the Arcata Community Center.
This special Dr Martin Luther King event, with a theme of Bringing Ujamaa (brotherhood/Sistahood) in the Humboldt Community, will take place on Jan 16, at 9:00-4:30. The community is invited to March from the Arcata Plaza at 8:15 am to the Arcata Community Center.
AS a community, there are opportunities to join in community restorative healing… at 9:00 am for African Kemetic Yoga, Storytelling by Benjamin Mertz at 11:00am, bring your drums… at 4:00pm for a community drumming and African Dance circle. There will be food vendors, cultural art creations, reggae and Gospel bands, and  the Humboldt Lao Dancers. The cost is $10 dollars at the door. All funds for the MLK Learning Center will be donated to the Glen Edward Kuumba foundation to improve literacy awareness and Black excellence.
