Mosaic & Wood Art Reception
Trinidad Art Gallery will celebrate the work of mosaic artist Jennifer Pierce and woodworker Tom Kingshill with an opening reception on Saturday July 26th from 5:30-8:30 pm. Join us for snacks, wine pour benefitting Trinidad Coastal Land Trust, and an opportunity to meet many of the gallery’s 25 local artists.
Jennifer Pierce’s mosaic work is painstakingly crafted from cut glass, beads, shell, stone and found objects, with imagery inspired by Humboldt county flora, fauna and landscapes and the stylistic lines of Japanese textiles and woodblock printing.
Tom Kingshill uses a wood lathe and foraged sections of local trees to create decorative vessels that embellish the inherent beauty of wood with a combination of smooth, machine like precision with the natural undulations of raw edges.
