HLOC’s The Space

Humboldt Light Opera Company and Humboldt Heartfulness Meditation are collaborating to present “Music from the Heart” on Saturday, May 20, 7:00-8:30 pm at The Space in the Sunnybrae Shopping Center. This evening of classical music will include vocal and instrumental selections performed by Sarah Benzinger, Katherine Johnson, Fiona Gadd-Ryder, James Gadd, Michael Johnson, and Ryan Mmpo. It is a benefit for HLOC and Humboldt Heartfulness Meditation, with entry by donation. Space is limited. Reserve your seat at info@hloc.org. “Music from the Heart” was the brainstorm of Katherine Johnson, soprano with Humboldt Light Opera Company and a Heartfulness meditator, who says “I’ve been involved with Humboldt Light Opera Company for a long time and along the way, Heartfulness Meditation became very important to me. It seemed like a natural place to join the two elements together, the music and the meditation. HLOC offers all sorts of activities and classes so I thought, why not—something new.” Following the performance, the audience will be invited to join in a half hour of Heartfulness Meditation. Heartfulness is a simple meditation for anyone over the age of 15. You don’t need prior experience or belief in anything in particular, just the openness to try it.
