FRIDAY at 7:30 P.M.

Music of the Spheres

Arkley Center For The Performing Arts

Eureka Symphony’s next concert will be out of this world!

1) Overture to “Il Mondo Della Luna” (The World on the Moon), Franz Joseph Haydn

This is a window into Joseph Haydn’s quirky vision of life on the moon, written in the comic opera buffa style.

Local high school students will play side-by-side with Eureka Symphony orchestra members.

2) Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola, and Orchestra in Eb Major KV 364, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Allegro maestoso. Andante. Presto. Featuring the return of our two charismatic soloists Liana Bérubé, violin and Ivo Bokulić, viola.

3) After intermission, we’ll conclude with the timeless and evocative suite The Planets by Gustav Holst. His fascination with astrology helped him capture the essence of each planet. No matter what your sign or horoscope is, you are sure to love this magical work.

We will be projecting NASA images of planets to enhance the experience.

The Planets, Gustav Holst
Mars, the Bringer of War
Venus, the Bringer of Peace
Mercury, the Winged Messenger
Saturn, the Bringer of Old Age
Uranus, the Magician
Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity

Musical Notes are presented at 6:30 pm just before the concert.
You can also join a webinar on Monday April 21.
