The Whole Other is Nathan Moore and Lex Park.

Famous for his all-night music at the High Sierra Mountain Music Festival and for creating what is known as “The Spot” on Jamcruise, from 10 years touring with ThaMuseMeant, to fronting Surprise Me Mr Davis with The Slip and Marco Benevento, Nathan Moore has a spent his career traveling the country playing his music. He is a winner of the Telluride Troubadour Contest.

Lex Park has played bass with a number of bands in the Norfolk, Virginia music scene before moving to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Staunton, Virginia in 2013 where he met Nathan at neighborhood cookout. They had actually met years earlier at a Surprise Me Mr Davis show. Lex joined Nathan’s band of merry folk singers and bluegrass pickers on Jamcruise in 2014.

Later that year, the two developed the idea that ultimately would become The Whole Other during Nathan’s Live broadcasted internet radio show, Revolution Radio (Archives of Revolution Radio are online at Nathansland.com). Revolution Radio developed into Improv Radio, allowing Nathan and Lex to freely experiment with looping beats and rhythms, bringing new life to the classic folk stylings of Nathan’s songs. As a result, The Whole Other coalesced and emerged.

The Whole Other made it’s Live debut performance in the Spinaker Lounge on the 2017 sailing of Jamcruise! Booked simply as “MOORE” at the time, the Lex Park-Nathan Moore duo with it’s psychedelic folk/electronic sound, was a highly anticipated and acclaimed act.

Scott Bernstein of Jambase writes of the performance:

They returned from that trip reeling with inspiration, completely renovated Nathan’s basement studio, and began re-arranging and recording what would become The Whole Other EP. This new offering brings to you Nathan Moore’s mythology and storytelling through a “whole other” new medium of big and bright, expansively grooving, highly danceable, kaleidoscope of sounds & rhythms.

The self-titled debut EP from The Whole Other is officially released, and exclusively available right now at http://www.thewholeother.com both as a digital download, or in CD format.
