North Coast Stand Down Planning

Elks Lodge

The Board of Directors and Staff of the North Coast Stand Down would like to express our gratitude to our sponsors, donors and service providers for the wonderful success of the 2016 North Coast Stand Down. Without their generosity and support we would not be able to serve our veterans to the level we have been able to. In 2016, we were able to provide for the needs of 378 Veterans, safely housed 26, provided single site access to services and support groups, including dental and vision services, for 2 days of outreach, resources and continuity of care. We cooked 3 wholesome meals a day, provided secure housing, supplied 65 pairs of new “boots” to houseless vets, and clean fresh clothing, showers, hygene products, haircuts and grooming. We took care of our furry friends by kenneling, feeding, & providing supplies and veterinary care. We offer a Native American sweat lodge for spiritual healing and cleansing. We even made it easy to find transportation to and from the fairgrounds. Without the exceptional generosity and heart of this marvelous community, we would not be able to do what we do. Thank You All for helping us serve and serving with us. Warmly, On behalf of the NCSD Board of Directors and Staff —————————————————————————————- With that said…. The 2017 North Coast Stand Down kicks off, February 21, 2017 at 6:00 pm. Coordinators for the event will come together at the Elks Lodge in Eureka to begin planning for this years event. Our goals this year are to streamline registration processes, better communication and meals cooked by various organizations in the community. The dates this year are October 6th, 7th and 8th. We welcome you to our family and thank you for supporting our veterans, service members and their families.
