Notice of Availability Environmental Assessment
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR THE YUROK TRIBE TRANSPORTATION BUILDING KLAMATH, CALIFORNIA, DEL NORTE COUNTY Notice is hereby given that the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Pacific Region, Division of Environmental, Cultural Resource Management and Safety (DECRMS) has reviewed an Environmental Assessment (EA), prepared for the Yurok Tribe dated May 20, 2025. The EA was created for the proposed Yurok Transportation Building Project, which will develop a 4,968 SF building with associated parking, ADA parking, sidewalks, a marine railway boat launch, and utilities to support the recreational development of this property (Proposed Action). The building will be used to house equipment owned by the Yurok Tribe Transportation Department – mainly river jet boats, trailers, and supplies. The building will have 4 bays with roll up doors, a downstairs reception area, bathroom, and second story office space with breakroom. The total acreage of the project described is 0.329 acres located on the Yurok Tribal Indian Reservation in Klamath, CA with APN: 140-050-025-000. This project exists entirely on fee land and will be federally funded. The Proposed Action and the No Action Alternative were evaluated in the EA. The EA is available for review from May 27 - June 02, 2025 from three (3) sources including: 1) on the internet at the following website: Transportation | Yurok Tribe; 2) in the Lost Coast Outpost Newspaper; and 3) at the Yurok Tribal Office located at 190 Klamath Blvd., Klamath, California 95548.
