Ocean Day Volunteer Training

Volunteers are needed to for the 12th Annual Kid’s Ocean Day on Wednesday, June 8! Friends of the Dunes and the Bureau of Land Management will be bringing 1,000 grade schools students to the coast for a day of taking a stand in the sand. Volunteers are needed to lead school groups in habitat restoration and beach clean-up activities. After all that hard work, students, teachers, and volunteers will sit in an aerial art formation of a giant sea creature with the message “Sea Change.” A full volunteer training will be provided on Monday, June 6 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center, 220 Stamps Lane in Manila. Bring a blank shirt to screen print with our Ocean Day image. To sign up, please contact Friends of the Dunes.
