O’Death
Originally formed while the members attended SUNY Purchase, O’Death quickly began building a fanbase with their reverently twisted take on Americana filtered through a wealth of musical influences as divergent as Bill Monroe, Prince, Neil Young, and The Misfits. In late July of 2010, O’Death returned to the stage after a year-long hiatus to play a critically-acclaimed set at the Newport Folk Festival. In many ways it was the perfect start to a new era in the band’s existence, and a logical precursor to their upcoming third LP Outside.
” … O’Death draws from the bluntness and spiritual purify of Appalachian folk, the menace of punk and the rowdy theatricality of Tom Waits, jumbling sacred and profane.” - The New York Times
