One Community - We All Live Here

Gazebo, Old Town, Eureka

During the September 1st Arts Alive in Old Town Eureka, the collaborative event “One Community – We All Live Here”, will honor and celebrate all who call Humboldt County Home. “The event was born out of interest to celebrate the diversity and gifts all of our community members offer Humboldt County,” says Brian Olson, Planning Member of One Community. “Many of us who serve some of the most vulnerable and marginalized populations, want to highlight how we all make up our Humboldt County community, and the need to look past disabilities, color of skin, addictions, and other differences and accept people for who they are and support them in their journey of who they want to be,” says Olson. The event will bring together artists and others with anti-stigma messaging in various locations on Saturday night’s Arts Alive, from 6 – 9p.m. Look for presenters at the Old Town gazebo, at Synapsis located at 212 G Street, Humboldt Herbals at 300 2nd Street, and at The Connection HPRC located at 334 F Street. Who are marginalized in our community? They include those who are undocumented, addicted to drugs, mentally and physically disabled, those without a home, those of color and any group who are treated less than or as insignificant. Come out on Saturday, September 1st from 6 – 9 p.m. during Arts Alive in Eureka and celebrate Humboldt County and those who make up our beautiful community.
