Past Self, Sculpture Club, and The True Faith

The Miniplex at Richards’ Goat Tavern

Three bands shaping the new vanguard of post-punk and darkwave—The True Faith, Sculpture Club, and Past Self—have announced a joint West Coast tour set for August 2025. Traversing eight cities in nine days, the tour brings together a trio of acts who’ve spent the last few years quietly reshaping the sonic vocabulary of gloom: moody guitars, machine-washed drums, and aching vocals drifting through smoke.

Each band brings a distinct but complementary vision to the tour. Philadelphia’s The True Faith operate in widescreen—balancing the anthemic swell of early U2 with the bleak grandeur of The Chameleons and The Sound. Their 2023 LP Go to Ground and a string of recent split releases have cemented their reputation for pairing cinematic melancholy with unflinching intensity.

Sculpture Club, now based in Dallas, is the long-running project of Chaz Costello. Once known for glitter-drenched, confetti-strewn live shows, the band has grown into something more reflective—equal parts jangle-pop, glam, and gothic folk. Their evolution is subtle but striking, layering violins, acoustic textures, and an aching melodic sensibility into their already potent sound.

Past Self, from Las Vegas, coined the term “K-Goth” to describe their unique fusion of Korean lyricism, shoegaze haze, and coldwave structure. After breaking out with 2021’s Bedrot, they followed up with the emotionally turbulent Die Cry Hate in 2023, and more recently, the Premonitions EP. Live, they oscillate between ritual and release—at once intimate and enormous.

This tour reads less like a lineup and more like a transmission—a document of where this wave of underground music is, and where it might be headed next.
