Friday 10/4: This workshop will focus on the surdo. For anyone who wants to learn surdo, highly encouraged! Drums provided, all levels welcome 🥁

Saturday 10/5: This percussion workshop is all-band (surdo, caixa, repique, timbau, maybe agogo). Drums provided, all levels welcome 🥁

A Brazilian percussionist from Bahia, Adriana Portela, started in the musical area in 1992. Adriana Portela was the first woman to conduct a female samba-reggae band in Brazil, Didá Banda Feminina. Percussionist and drummer of the Didá Band, she has played with several celebrities of the national and international musical genre such as: Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, Simone, Elza Soares, Carlinhos Brown, Shakira, Daniela Mercury, Margareth Menezes, Milton Nascimento, Vanessa da Mata, Gospel Gospel Mount Moriah (New York) among others.

A graduate in Social Work, postgraduate in Social Project Management, Master’s Student in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Bahia, Adriana has always seen music as the driving force of large living constructions, and as a tool capable of crossing boundaries enabling the knowledge of diverse cultures
