Ray McGovern: Are Freedom and Security Compatible?
The Redwood ACLU is hosting a lecture by Ray McGovern on Freedom and Security.
After 27 years as an insider at the CIA, McGovern offers a deeply insightful look at national security.

As a member of the CIA, Mr. McGovern briefed President Reagan from 1981-85 on matters of national security. Mr. McGovern was a founding member of the Veteran Intelligence Professional for Sanity (VIPS) who warned of faulty intelligence in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and more recently questioned U.S. intelligence in Ukraine. Mr. McGovern holds an M.A. in Russian Studies from Fordham University, a certificate in Theological Studies from Georgetown University, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
