RCEA Exterior Commercial Lighting Expo

WINTER IS COMING!

The Redwood Coast Energy Authority is hosting a casual get-together to spotlight the latest in LED outdoor lighting for commercial use. It’ll be Tuesday, October 24, from 4-7pm at the Humboldt Bay Social Club in Samoa.

There will be a no-host bar inside, and we’ll have food to throw on the BBQ outside. If you haven’t explored the Social Club yet this is a fun way to check it out and ultimately check a big item off your to-do list.

We’ve invited local electrical contractors and suppliers as well, so they can answer your questions and help you get started. Any commercial building, any size is eligible. We’re making it easy.

Before you start any of your LED upgrades, talk to RCEA so we can help process the rebates and incentives available and advocate for you. We will confirm that your new fixtures will qualify, and can help identify financing options as well. We are supporting customers, contractors and suppliers to make the most of opportunities available NOW. These rebates apply only to commercial users, not residential.

LED lighting uses significantly less energy, lasts far longer, turns on and off instantly and can be equipped with occupancy controls for more energy savings. This advanced lighting technology provides reliable, consistent, high-quality white light, making it ideal for parking lots, gas stations, outdoor parking structures, pathway lighting and outdoor wall-mounted lighting.

Replacing high-intensity discharge or incandescent outdoor fixtures with LED lighting can greatly reduce your business’s energy usage and maintenance costs while improving light quality and output at the ground level.

This also supports the dark-sky movement - a campaign to reduce light pollution. The advantages of reducing light pollution include an increased number of stars visible at night, reducing the effects of electric lighting on the environment, and cutting down on energy usage.

If you can’t make the expo, no worries. Just call us and we’ll go over the whole thing with you.
