REDWOOD GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY SPEAKER: GERRY HALE The Redwood Genealogical Society will meet on Wednesday, November 6 at the Sushi Boat Restaurant in Fortuna at 11:30 am. Lunch (optional) is $9. Our speaker is Gerry Hale, whose topic is Ethnic Restaurants in Humboldt County during the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Gerry will cover 2 non-Italian restaurants, and then focus on 4 out of the dozens of Italian retaurants that existed at the time. The four he’ll highlight are: Lazio’s, Roy’s Club, The Big 4, and the Bella Vista. The Bella Vista has the most details because Gerry lived it. Gerry says that this is a “work-in-progress”. So, if anyone has pertintent information, please bring it along.
