Redwood Genealogical Society Meeting
Local historian and Humboldt County Historical Society Collections Archivist Jim Garrison will present “Humboldt’s Lost Treasures” on February 5th at 11:30 am at the Sushi Boat Buffet in Fortuna. The meeting is open to the public and is free of charge. The optional lunch is $9.00. Humboldt County has a long history of losing, selling and/or demolishing historic resources. This talk will offer a whirlwind tour of the old courthouse, the Stump House and other pieces of history lost around the county, and as well as some resources that might still be saved. A local historian, Garrison grew up in Rio Dell and earned a degree in history in 2014 from Humboldt State University, where he focused his research on the settlement period of Humboldt County. Join us for this interesting talk!
