Regional Energy Planning Workshop - Phase 2
On Thursday, October 17, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. the Redwood Coast Energy Authority (RCEA) will present and discuss the Comprehensive Action Plan for Energy (CAPE), which incorporates public input received during the plan’s first update phase in August and September. The workshop will include a breakout a session to explore ways the community and RCEA can work together to improve local energy resiliency and independence. We will also discuss the role of biomass and wind power (both on and offshore) in Humboldt County’s power mix. (The next day, Friday the 18th from 1-4 pm, we will be meeting to discuss biomass in-depth, same location). Refreshments will be served; both workshops will be at the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center. The CAPE, adopted in 2012, details strategies to address regional energy planning and coordination, energy programs for residences and businesses, low-carbon transportation, and energy generation and utility services. Comments on the Draft CAPE should be emailed to EnergyPlan2019@redwoodenergy.org. Meeting agendas, CAPE update timeline, and additional details can be found on our website, www.RedwoodEnergy.org and by calling (707) 269-1700.
