Humboldt’s favorite hike-in campground has been closed for nearly three years because of California budget cuts. Dry Lagoon Primitive Hike-in Campground is located eight miles north of Patrick’s Point. We are trying to raise money for State Parks to reopen it in Spring of 2015. The Campground needs new picnic tables, bear boxes, fire rings, and trail maintenance. Last year, with our grassroots collaborative effort, the community raised the money to reopen the Stone Lagoon boat-in campground at Ryan’s Cove, and families have enjoyed it all summer!

The doors to this event open at 6:00 p.m. The suggested cover charge is $10 for adults and $5 for children under twelve. The Pilot Rock Ramblers are a Trinidad-based string band featuring well-known music with a folk, bluegrass, and danceable feel to it. They will be performing from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monahan, Martin, and Sleep is a Westhaven-based band playing high energy dance music from the ‘60s through the ‘90s, and have a classic rock, jazz, and blues influenced power fusion. They will be performing from 9:00 p.m. to closing. The silent auction will close at 9:00 p.m.

Great food and drink will be available for purchase. EdeBee’s Snack Shack will be making handmade burritos, including chicken, gluten-free and vegan options to meet most dietary needs. The Greater Trinidad Chamber of Commerce has graciously rented the Trinidad Town Hall for this event and they will be selling beer and wine on behalf of the Chamber. If non-alcoholic beverages are more your style, rest assured that we will have them available as well!

Please come join us! With your help, we can reopen this beautiful campsite for people of all ages to enjoy for years to come.

If you are unable to join us or you prefer to donate directly, a “Humboldt Lagoons State Park Fund” has been set up through Humboldt Area Foundation at: www.hafoundation.org/donations/donations.php
