Resonance is a weekend celebration of universal frequencies; a collaboration of sound healing, yoga and dance with Marjo Lak, Bruce Burger and special guests. It’s a place to bathe yourself in the waves of percussive, spirit-lifting soundscapes restoring your authentic divine essence. It’s an opportunity to commune with cherished friends and family in an environment of beauty and intention while nourishing your mind, body, and soul through sound, movement and joviality.
Join us for the first edition of our weekend of sound healing, yoga and dance retreat. We’ll explore the higher octaves of our souls through sacred chanting, movements and sounds. We invite you to partake in a two-day journey deep into relaxation and rejuvination, integrating healing modalities that will align your chakras and restore balance in your life. This retreat will be held at the sustainably landscaped Heartwood Institute among the rolling hills of Southern Humboldt. Heartwood has been home to educational programs in healing arts and permaculture for over 30 years.
This is an open invitation to participate in our weekend of a four part series. Wake Up Wonderful with a hatha flow yoga practice lead by April Martin. Designed to awaken the body and mind so that one may truly live from and with the heart. Open to all levels and accompanied by live music/dj set.
Mid-morning we will learn ancient mantras that connect you with your Divine Self, Our Divine Mother Nature and The Divine Cosmos. Mantra Yoga is highly effective in healing heartbreak, grief, and anxiety. It brings peace to the heart/ mind and health to the body.
In the afternoon you will bathe yourself in an extended sound healing experience. An unique journey using planetary gongs, crystal bowls, Tibetan singing bowls and bells, alchemy gem stones bowls, Acutonics tuning forks, rattles and native water drum and songs. Sitting or lying down you will enjoy the healing sounds of sacred instruments that will relax you and help you align your chakra system, your body mind and spirit, promoting harmony and well being within.
Close out the day with an alcohol-free Electronic Dance Music celebration with some of Humboldt’s top DJ’s, featuring: Dj Marjo Lak, Copperton3, Sunshine Magick and very special guest DJ DRAGONFLY. Quench your thirst at our local Kombucha Bar by “It’s Alive Kombucha!”.
Sunday features another round of wake up wonderful followed by the legendary Heartwood Sunday Services with Bruce & Chela Burger. Allow the weekend events to integrate in a fusion culmination of mantra yoga and sound healing. A sanctuary of aural improvisation lead by Bruce Burger and Marjo Lak.
Resonance will be held in the sacred lands of Heatwood Intitute. Enjoy fresh organic meals prepared lovingly by Heartwood Kitchen. Individual or shared accommodation are available. Camping is also an option among the intentional landscape grounds. Indulge in the Heartwood facilities including hot-tub, sauna, and 200 acres of walking trails
