Return of the River
The Miniplex at Richards’ Goat Tavern
Screenings at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Come support one of areas longest running environmental advocacy groups over a few drinks and the movie Return of the River. The Northcoast Environmental Center (NEC) is sponsoring two screenings of Return of the River, a film about the largest dam removal project in the history of the United States and the extrordinary effort to restore an eco-system and set a river free. Return of the River follows a group of strong-minded committed people as they attempt the impossible: to change the public opinion of a town, and eventually the nation, to bring a dam down. The community comes to a consensus, setting the Elwha River free and showing the way to a more sustainable future. Amid grim environmental news, Return of the River is a film infused with hope. Return of the River will be shown at 5:30pm and 7:30pm on March 13th at The Miniplex, inside Richards’ Goat Tavern at 920 Samoa Blvd. in Arcata. Each screening will be followed by a Q&A with Co-Director John Gussman. Seating is limited to 40 so purchase your tickets early! Tickets are $8 and can be purchased in two ways: 1) Before the event at the NEC office, 415 I Street in Arcata (see our open hours). 2) At the door
