A night of live world percussion featuring COLBY BEERS (trance-like North Indian tabla), with RYAN MCDONALD leading Mali and Guinea drumming, ATSIA ensemble performing drumming of Ghana, and COLBY BEERS and MJ FABIAN leading world fusion percussion.

Colby Beers is a master percussionist and a disciple of Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri. He has a been performing and studying percussion since 1997 and teaching music since 2003. In addition to performing with several world class drum corps such as the Santa Clara Vanguard, Concord Blue Devils, & RCC, he also has performed with many distinct percussion ensembles such as Burat Wangi, and Volta Drum & Dance. Colby has his bachelor and master degrees from the California Institute of the Arts where he studied music of India, Ghana, Indonesia, Iran, Egypt, and more. Currently, he resides in Humboldt County where he leads a local ensemble called ‘Atsia’ and performs regularly with many more such as the Eureka Symphony, Skywater Kirtan Band, and others. He also teaches affordable community drum classes for all ages in a myriad of subjects from all over the world.
