A free event will be held to commemorate the 1964 flood. On Mon., Dec. 8, excerpts from a documentary still in production, “High Water Mark: Stories of the ’64 Flood,” will be shown. A production of Jete-Miro, a project of The Ink People, this documentary when complete will run for 90 minutes and draw on more than 900 photos and slides and 58 interviews. It will be followed by a presentation by Scotia Band, Winema Winds, Scotia Saxes, and other musical performers. The arrangements highlight the news and music of the flood era, as well as the holiday season. In its 79th year, Scotia Band and its associate groups perform at numerous, regional activities. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Winema Theater on Main Street in Scotia, and will include a brief intermission with the opportunity to purchase refreshments and a CD of the Scotia Band’s Christmas music.
