Westhaven Center for the Arts presents its bi-monthly Third Friday Jazz, Sept. 20, at 7:00 p.m. The stellar house band is RLA Jazz Trio, with members Tim Randles, piano, Mike LaBolle, drums, and Ken Lawrence, bass, with this month’s featured guest saxophonist Francis Vanek, “….a superb saxophonist.” -SF Chronicle. Francis has played in bands w/ Roger Humphries & J.C. Moses. He studied with the great Carl Arter and shared the bandstand w/ such saxophone stalwarts as Ernie Watts, Tom Scott and Eddie Daniels. Refreshments available. $10-20 sliding scale.
