Run in the Redwoods Half Marathon and 5K
Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park
Race Location: Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park Visitor Center, which is located 5 miles north of the town of Orick. Take Highway 101 to Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway. Course: The race will begin and end on the Netwon B. Drury parkway at the intersection with the Visitor Center entrance road. Half Marathon course will be on the Netwon B. Drury Parkway for 9 miles with the final 4 miles on the Prairie Creek Trail, ending back at the visitor center. Restrictions: Limited to the first 200 registration forms received for each race. There are no dogs allowed on trails. Please register before 8/30. The purpose of the “Run in the Redwoods” is to raise support for the Redwood Parks Association (RPA), a local nonprofit that supports interpretive activities and visitor centers in 8 locations throughout Redwood National and State Parks. All proceeds from the event will benefit the parks. A portion of the funds will be used to improve the Revelation Trail for the blind, located adjacent to the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park Visitor Center.
