Salt River Tree Planting
Join the Watershed Stewards Program (WSP), the Humboldt County Resource Conservation District (HCRCD), and the Bear River Tribe for a day of planting cottonwood and willow trees along a portion of the Salt River in Ferndale. Revegetation of this area will help stabilize soil and maintain cooler water temperatures, leading to improved water quality and salmon habitat. What to bring: warm clothes, sturdy shoes, rain gear, gloves (if you have them). Volunteers will be provided with tools, snacks, and drinks. Volunteers will meet at the Ferndale Fairgrounds parking lot and shuttle to the planting site.
